After
obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from York University
in 1982, Jim attended University of Ottawa Law School and graduated
in 1986. Upon being called to the bar in 1988, Jim returned to the
firm in Etobicoke at which he had articled to commence practicing
in the areas of corporate/commercial, real estate and municipal
law.
In
addition to his experience serving corporate/commercial, real estate
and institutional clients, Jim has obtained broad experience in
civil litigation having appeared in the Superior Court of Justice
and the Court of Appeal as well as the private court in Toronto
for alternative dispute resolution sessions. Having substantial
experience in several practice areas, he is well equipped to provide
advice to municipal and private clients in a broad range of areas.
Jim has recently moved to Barrie and joined Burgar Rowe Professional
Corporation to practice with its municipal law and real estate groups.
Jim
has recently been welcomed as a new member of the Barrie-Huronia
Rotary Club and will be actively involved in community work through
this organization in the Barrie area. Jim is an avid, but poor,
golfer and has curled in support of the Big Brothers' organization.
